The Roemerburg is characterised by its old walls which are more than 1500 years old and yet still survive.
The walls once formed the corner tower of the Roman fortress and in the middle ages the fortifications of the self-proclaimed free town of Boppard. Once the turbulent times had passed the ruins were given over for public use. Nowadays its walls serve as a refuge where guests can relax.
